ARIZONA'S UPPER VERDE WATERSHED WATER-RESOURCE ISSUES INFORMATION AND ANALYSIS By William Meyer and Edward W. Wolfe |

|
Our purpose is to analyze and present objective information about water resources and water-resource issues in the Upper Verde Watershed. Compelling evidence shows that future demands on ground water from the Upper Verde Watershed severely threaten the existence of perennial flow in the Upper Verde River as far downstream as Perkinsville. See Water-Resource Issues in the Upper Verde River Watershed. We hope that information reported at this website and our analysis of it will be useful resources for guiding the critical decisions required to manage our precious and limited water supply.
ABOUT US Bill Meyer and Ed Wolfe are both retired U.S. Geological Survey scientists. Both live in the Prescott area. Meyer, a hydrologist, was trained at the University of Arizona. He is an expert on the physics of ground-water movement and has considerable experience in modeling ground-water systems. Wolfe is a geologist. In the course of his career, he has published studies on the geology of northern and central Arizona, as well as on the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii.
